Glen Sonmor, the colorful analyst on radio for Gophers hockey games, will retire at the end of this season.

Sonmor, 81, is one of the most passionate Gophers hockey fans, which makes listening to him a treat. You can almost feel his pain when the Gophers are losing by how his voice sounds. He is also know for getting on officials when they are mistreating the maroon and gold.

Sonmor coached the Gophers from 1966 to December of 1971. His 1970-71 team reached the Frozen Four, losing 4-2 to Boston University in the championship game.
