Victories by Wisconsin, Ohio State and Michigan State on Saturday mean all three finished 7-1 in the Big Ten and will share the title. But of course, they can't share the Rose Bowl berth. Because of the three-way tie, the team that is highest in the final BCS standings released on Dec. 5 will be the Big Ten's Rose Bowl representative.

That likely will be Wisconsin, which was No. 7 in the BCS standings released last Sunday, just ahead of No. 8 Ohio State. Michigan State was No. 10.

Two things could keep the Badgers from the Rose Bowl. The first would be Ohio State leaping over Wisconsin in the BCS standings, which is highly unlikely.

The second -- and even better for Badgers fans -- would be Wisconsin advancing to the BCS Championship Game, which probably would require losses by No. 1 Oregon and No. 2 Auburn and a BCS snubbing of No. 3 TCU.

The remaining schedule is favorable, but their hopes of a late-season run were dulled by a home loss to the Terrapins.
