If some place is too hot like the East is now, some other part of the country is too cool. This has been the fate of the northern Rockies and Northwest for the past several days. From Billings, Mont., to Spokane, Wash., the temperature has average 8 to 15 degrees below normal since last Thursday.

Recently, the chill made it down to Denver where it was snowing to beat the band this morning. That snow is over now, but another snow system will impact that northern Rockies Monday night and Tuesday. A large portion of western Montana will get at least 3 inches of snow from the storm, while the mountains around Cut Bank pick up more than a foot.
