Smell-blocker in the paint A new additive turns latex paint or primer into an odor eater.

ZorbX Odor Remover Paint Additive, from Cleveland's ZorbX Inc., penetrates the surface you're painting and permanently removes its odors. The company says the product works on odors such as cigarette smoke, pet urine and musty smells without affecting the chemistry or performance of the paint or primer.

The additive can be ordered at www.zorbx.com. Two 3 1/2-ounce jars, enough for two gallons of paint, cost $14.99 plus shipping.
