WRENSHALL, Minn. — A local egg producer from a tiny northeastern Minnesota community has emerged from tens of thousands of entries to become a finalist for a free Super Bowl commercial.

Locally Laid Egg Co. in Wrenshall is one of four finalists in a contest sponsored by the small business software developer Intuit. Jason Amundsen owns Locally Laid along with his wife, Lucie. Amundsen says it's an enormous opportunity to bring a small northern Minnesota business to the national stage. Locally Laid is the state's only commercial-scale, pasture-raised egg business.

The Duluth News Tribune (http://bit.ly/HRLMgd ) says the Amundsens have 2,500 chickens that forage on grass and produce eggs with less cholesterol and fat.

The winner of the contest will be determined by online voting that began Monday and ends Dec. 1. The voting website is smallbusinessbiggame.com.
