Small donors in House races

Small-dollar donors, the folks who contribute no more than a few hundred dollars to legislative campaigns, have been on the decline in recent years. Back in 2008, more than 85 percent of House candidates' campaign donations came from people who contributed less than $200. By the 2012 election, people who gave more than that made up about a third of all donations.
