DVD Making an adjustment
In "The Adjustment Bureau," Matt Damon plays a gifted young New York politician named David, who meets a free spirit named Elise (Emily Blunt). As a couple, David and Elise are clearly meant to be, but it turns out that David's future might have other plans. The Fates are aligned in the form of the mysterious title outfit. This is a movie of myriad genres, including classic science fiction ("Blade Runner") and doomed romance ("An Affair to Remember"). The DVD and Blu-ray (Universal, $30-$40) include commentary by writer and director George Nolfi, deleted scenes and making-of featurettes.

Redbox goes big on games Redbox has made good on its promise to roll out video game rentals across its network of kiosks, announcing that 21,000 of its 27,000 kiosks nationwide now offer a mix of games and movies. The company, which has rented more than 1 billion movies since introducing its service in 2003, had been testing game rentals for two years at 5,000 of its kiosks. It found that the average revenue of kiosks that rented games as well as movies was 10 to 15 percent higher than machines that rented only movies. That's partly because games cost $2 a day to rent, while Blu-rays cost $1.50 and DVDs $1. Redbox said each kiosk will have 22 to 28 game titles, as well as up to 200 movie titles.

Miramax films hit Hulu Miramax has signed a digital distribution agreement with online video distributor Hulu, as part of a continuing effort to generate more revenue from its 700-title movie library. Subscribers to Hulu's premium service Hulu Plus, which costs $8 per month, will get access to hundreds of Miramax titles that will be added over the next few months, with 27 available to stream now, including "Pulp Fiction." Hulu also will make about 15 Miramax films available each month for free on the advertising-supported section of its website beginning later this month, the first online platform to do so. That marks the first time that Miramax movies have been available to watch free online -- legally, that is.
