Target goes plus-size

After coming under fire for its lack of fashion-forward plus-size options, Target has debuted its first dedicated plus-size line, Ava & Viv. To launch the brand, Target has enlisted a trio of influential plus-size style bloggers, Gabi Gregg, Nicolette Mason and Chastity Garner. The 90-piece line designed by an in-house team spans trendy, casual pieces to workwear and will trickle into stores between now and March. It's available online beginning Sunday. (www.target.com.)

Ruby3 hat trunk show

Anna Lee is perhaps best known as the founder of MNfashion and fashion-rock show Voltage. Last year she returned to her roots, designing hats under her label Ruby3. Lee hosts a trunk show this weekend with her newest line of sculptural felt hats that offer a modern twist on vintage — plus a sneak peek of her forthcoming Kentucky Derby collection, a collection of woven straw hats festooned with striped ribbon and big blooms. (5-8 p.m. Wed. American Swedish Institute, 2600 Park Av. S., Mpls. www.ruby3.com.)
