Senior Tyler Weiss leads the Shakopee boys' basketball team in scoring and rebounding in his final quest for a Class 4A state tournament berth.
The 6-8 forward is averaging 14.7 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. He scored a season-best 24 points in a 63-60 victory over No. 7 Armstrong in a nonconference matchup.
The Sabers, with a 12-5 record overall in the regular season, are in a four-way battle with Farmington, Chanhassen and Chaska for the Missota Conference title.
Shakopee last advanced to the state tournament in 2005, when it won the Class 3A champion by defeating Richfield 57-46 in the finals.
