An outbreak of severe thunderstorms will hit the Upper Midwest Saturday afternoon and Saturday night. The storms will produce straight-line wind gusts over 65 mph, hail bigger than golf balls and a temporary period of very heavy rain. The storms will impact the Great Lakes and a portion of the Northeast on Sunday.

The thunderstorms shown here is just one of a caravan of storm clusters that will be moving out of the Upper Midwest next week. All of the storms will be firing along the rim of a very hot and humid air mass.
