An outbreak of strong thunderstorms will take place beginning on the eastern Plains Saturday night. On Sunday, a few severe thunderstorms will erupt between southern Illinois, southern Indiana and southwestern Ohio and the Gulf Coast from New Orleans to Pensacola, Florida. Louisville, Cincinnati, Nashville, Montgomery and Birmingham will be among the cities within this area.

Severe weather threats will stem from damaging winds and isolated large hail. A few tornadoes cannot be ruled out. There will also be bursts of torrential rain.

On Sunday night, the severe weather threat will advance to southern West Virginia through Georgia, northern Florida and part of South Carolina.
