TWINS UPDATE
The Twins are 10-11 all-time vs. the Cubs and took two of three the last time they met, at Wrigley Field in 2009. They swept the Cubs the last time Chicago came to Minnesota, in 2006. ... The Twins were 6-17 at Target Field before sweeping three games from Oakland to end their last homestand. ... Walters has four quality starts in five tries, the lone hiccup coming Saturday at Cleveland when he gave up four runs in 4 1/3 innings. The Twins went on to win that game 7-4.
CUBS UPDATE
The Cubs went 12-9 from mid-April to mid-May before suffering through a 12-game losing streak, and they really haven't recovered. They swept three games at home from the woeful Padres last week but opened a 10-game road trip by going 1-6 at San Francisco and Milwaukee. ... Wood, who came from Cincinnati last December in the Sean Marshall trade, held the Giants to one run over seven innings Sunday, but the Cubs lost 2-0.
