Schenn, Allen keep Blues hot

Brayden Schenn scored, Jake Allen made 35 saves and the St. Louis Blues won their fourth consecutive game Wednesday, beating the Edmonton Oilers 2-1 in St. Louis.

New Jersey 3, Anaheim 1: Nico Hischier and Kyle Palmeiri scored second-period goals as the Devils won at home.

Colorado 4, Chicago 1: Ian Cole and Mikko Rantanen each had a goal and an assist as the Avalanche won in Chicago. Colorado is 9-1-1 in its past 11 games.

Flames' exec Snow has ALS

Chris Snow, assistant general manager of the Calgary Flames, has been diagnosed with ALS, his wife, Kelsie, wrote in a post on the Flames' website. Snow, 38, is in his ninth season with the Flames. He was director of hockey operations for the Wild from 2006-10 and covered the Wild for the Star Tribune in the 2003-04 season.
