The Stir, the Women's Foundation of Minnesota's annual fundraising and networking event, helps fund projects across the state designed to combat gender inequality. While the evening was all about celebrating women, there were a few supportive men in the ballroom of the Marriott City Center in downtown Minneapolis, too.

Also in attendance? Bestselling author (and Minnesota native) Cheryl Strayed, who talked about her physical and emotional journey hiking the Pacific Crest Trail. That trip became the book "Wild," which was a selection in Oprah Winfrey's newly revived book club, and has been optioned for film — starring Reese Witherspoon.
