Scene & Heard: MN Orchestra Symphony, A ball was had by all

For its 60th anniversary, the Minnesota Orchestra Symphony Ball transformed Orchestra Hall into an Art Deco mansion from the Roaring '20s, complete with cocktail waitresses in peacock dresses, aerial performers and guests dolled up and ready to dance to the Wolverines jazz orchestra. In addition to a Champagne reception and dinner, guests were treated to a concert from the Minnesota Orchestra. The live auction featured a once-in-a-lifetime chance to conduct the orchestra. Winning bidder Dr. Ralph Chu led the orchestra — and the audience — in a resounding rendition of "The Stars and Stripes Forever." Funds raised at the event support the Minnesota Orchestra.
