Gabriel Landeskog scored twice to give him six goals in three games, Nathan MacKinnon added a goal and two assists and the Colorado Avalanche beat the Carolina Hurricanes 3-1 on Saturday in Raleigh, N.C.
Landeskog, fresh off a hat trick against New Jersey, opened the scoring late in the first period and added another goal midway through the second. His seven goals through eight games this season are tied for third most in the NHL.
"I don't know, obviously a lot of luck," said Landeskog, who has a point in four straight games. "But at the same time you're getting in the scoring areas and skating and working hard and a lot of it is just kind of coincidence. You happen to be in the right place at the right time."
Micheal Ferland scored and Curtis McElhinney made 19 saves for the Hurricanes, who have lost three straight after a 4-0-1 start.
"I think our game is there, it's just a matter of getting a couple bounces here or there," Hurricanes coach Rod Brind'Amour said.
Chicago 4, Columbus 1: Patrick Kane had two goals and an assist, Corey Crawford stopped 37 shots to get his first win in nearly 10 months, and the visiting Blackhawks beat the Blue Jackets.
St. Louis 4, Toronto 1: Ryan O'Reilly scored his first goal with St. Louis as the Blues beat the Maple Leafs in Toronto.
Nashville 3, Edmonton 0: Juuse Saros made 31 saves in the shutout and the visiting Predators ran their winning streak to five games by beating the Oilers.
