The skinny: The Buckeyes and Wolverines need a win and a Michigan State loss, at home to Penn State later in the day, to get a spot in next week's conference title game.

The stat: Ohio State has won three straight and 10 of 11 in the series, its most dominant stretch since winning 11 of 15 from 1954-68.

The line: Ohio State by 1 

NO. 2 Alabama at Auburn

Records: Alabama 10-1, 6-1 SEC; Auburn 6-5, 2-5

The skinny: The Crimson Tide can secure a spot in the SEC Championship Game against No. 10 Florida with a win or a Mississippi loss to Mississippi State. The Tigers can upgrade their bowl prospects and finish on a high note.

The stat: Alabama tailback Derrick Henry already has tied Trent Richardson's single-season record for rushing touchdowns (21) and looks to run on a vulnerable Auburn defense.

The line: Alabama by 14 ½

Penn State at No. 6 Michigan State

Records: Penn State 7-4, 4-3 Big Ten; Michigan State 10-1, 6-1

The skinny: After upsetting unbeaten Ohio State despite an injury to QB Connor Cook, the Spartans can wrap up a spot in the Big Ten Championship Game with a victory. A Penn State victory would send either Michigan or Ohio State to the title game.

The stat: Penn State QB Christian Hackenberg has the talent to throw effectively against the Spartans, but he's been sacked 36 times in 2015.

The line: Michigan State by 10 ½

No. 4 Notre Dame at No. 13 Stanford

6:30 p.m., Ch. 9

Records: Notre Dame 10-1, Stanford 9-2

The skinny: This is an elimination game for the College Football Playoff. The Fighting Irish are in better shape with a win since they have one loss, to No. 1 Clemson. The Cardinal will likely need lots of help from the other conferences to get in with two losses.

The stat: The home team has won the past four meetings.

The line: Stanford by 3

No. 14 Florida State at No. 10 Florida

6:30 p.m., ESPN

Records: Florida State 9-2, Florida 10-1

The skinny: The Gators are 12th in the CFP rankings and need to beat Florida State and win the SEC Championship Game next week to have a shot at cracking the top four.

The stat: FSU is 4-1 against Florida, including 2-0 in Gainesville, under coach Jimbo Fisher.

The line: Florida State by 2 ½

No. 5 Oklahoma at No. 9 Oklahoma State

7 p.m., Ch. 5

Records: Oklahoma 10-1, 7-1 Big 12; Oklahoma State 10-1, 7-1

The skinny: At No. 3 in the CFP, the Sooners are conference champions and looking like a safe bet to reach the playoff with a win. Sooners QB Baker Mayfield (concussion) is expected to play. Oklahoma State can still win its second conference title in five years.

The stat: Oklahoma State gave up 700 yards against Baylor, its most since surrendering a school-record 718 against Texas Tech in 2007.
