Louisville coach Jeff Walz wasn't about to overstate the significance of beating the country's top-ranked team during a late November tournament in the Caribbean.

The eighth-ranked Cardinals handed No. 1 Oregon its first loss of the season, getting 18 points and 15 rebounds from Kylee Shook in a 72-62 victory Saturday in the Paradise Jam tournament in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

"It's just a great win … but at the same time, it's not putting us in the Final Four," Walz said. "It's a win in November. We've got a lot of work to do. We've got to get better. But it shows our kids that if you follow the scouting reports and play hard and play aggressive like we did tonight, we can play with anybody."

Dana Evans scored 17 points, Elizabeth Balogun had 11 points and Jazmine Jones scored 10 points for the Cardinals (8-0).

No. 5 South Carolina 74, No. 2 Baylor 59: Freshman Aliyah Boston had a career-high 20 points and 13 rebounds for the Gamecocks (8-1) at the Paradise Jam tournament. The Bears (7-1) had won 36 games in a row. It was just the third time in the past 20 seasons that the Nos. 1 and 2 teams in the AP poll lost on the same day, according to ESPN.

No. 7 Oregon State 68, Liberty 55: The Beavers (7-0) won the Miami Thanksgiving Classic, giving Scott Rueck 500 career victories as a college coach.

Big Ten men

Indiana 64, South Dakota State 50: Freshman Trayce Jackson-Davis had 19 points and 14 rebounds for his fourth straight double-double to lead the Hoosiers to a win over the visiting Jackrabbits (6-4).

Florida State 63, Purdue 60 (OT): The Seminoles (7-1) defeated the Boilermakers (4-3) in the Emerald Coast Classic championship game in Niceville, Fla.

Top 25 men

No. 17 Tennessee 72, No. 20 VCU 69: Lamonte Turner made a three-pointer at the buzzer to give the Volunteers (6-1) a victory over the Rams (6-2) in the Emerald Coast Classic third-place game in Niceville, Fla. De'Riante Jenkins hit a three-pointer for VCU to tie the game at 69-69 with five seconds left.
