Saturday was the final day of the regular season for the NSIC and the MIAC. Here's a summary:


Men: Augustana (29-2, 20-2 NSIC), the top seed in the South, and Minnesota State Moorhead (29-2, 20-2) the top seed in the North, tied for the regular-season championship. The Vikings had a 19-game winning streak ended on Saturday night by Winona State 75-72. MSU Moorhead forged the tie with a 66-44 victory over Minnesota-Crookston.

Women: Wayne (Neb.) State (24-4, 18-4 NSIC), which won 66-52 at Upper Iowa on Saturday, will be the No. 1 seed in the South Division. Northern State (22-6, 16-6) is the top seed in the North.

Playoffs: Begin Wednesday for the men and women.


Men: St. Thomas (22-3, 17-3) closed out its 10th consecutive MIAC championship with an 89-62 victory over Hamline. The Tommies, ranked No. 3 in the nation, and second-place St. Olaf (21-4, 16-4), which was idle Saturday, will have first-round byes.

St. John's (16-9, 14-6) beat Gustavus Adolphus 50-47 to earn the tournament's No. 3 seed and Bethel (17-8, 13-7) outlasted Carleton to earn the No. 4 seed.

Women: St. Thomas, ranked No. 2 in the nation, completed a perfect regular season with an 81-47 victory over Hamline. Bethel (20-5, 14-4), which won 12 of its final 13 games, is the No. 2 seed for the playoffs.

St. Thomas (25-0, 18-0) and Bethel will have first-round byes. Concordia (Moorhead), St. Mary's and Gustavus tied for third place.

Concordia is the No. 3 seed, St. Mary's No. 4 and Gustavus No. 5 based on tiebreakers. Augsburg got the No. 6 seed over St. Benedict.

Playoffs: The women's tournament begins Tuesday; the men's playoffs begin Wednesday.
