Sanford Health, the big health care company out of the Dakotas that is expanding, selected Golden Valley based builder Mortenson Construction to build the new Sanford Fargo Medical Center.
Mortenson will partner with Nor-son Inc. of Baxter, a builder that specializes in health care facilities, for the $340 million project.
The new medical center will be the biggest hospital in North Dakota, once completed in 2016. It will feature nine-stories with 460 in-patient beds, 32 operating rooms, 12 IR/Cath labs and a 51-bay emergency department. A heliport, 200-000-square-foot clinic and support spaces are part of the project, as well.
