The Saints limited the Lincoln Saltdogs to three hits in a 7-4 exhibition victory Tuesday afternoon at Midway Stadium.

Scooter Jordan and Brian Sprout each had two hits and an RBI for the Saints, who had 13 hits.
In an evening exhibition, the Ibaraki (Japan) Golden Golds beat the Saints 3-2. The Saints' Jon Secrist, a 53-year-old knuckleballer, allowed one run in two innings.
Lynx cut first player The Lynx cut its first player, waiving Monique Martin, a guard from Brewton-Parker College in Mount Vernon, Ga. Her departure leaves the roster at 21 players.
Etc. • Gophers sophomore Aaron Studt earned his second consecutive Big Ten men's field event athlete of the week award. Studt won the shot put at the Drake Relays over the weekend, and is ranked No. 6 in the country in the event.
• The Baseline Tennis Center on the University of Minnesota campus has been named one of the top 50 tennis "welcome centers" in the country by the Tennis Industry Association (TIA).
