Saints edge Columbus after taking 7-0 lead

Mitch Garver had three hits, including two RBI singles, to lead the St. Paul Saints to a 9-5 victory over the Columbus Clippers on Thursday night at CHS Field.

The Saints scored the first seven runs, Columbus the next five.

Brent Rooker, Sherman Johnson and Jose Miranda each had one run-scoring single for St. Paul and Mark Contreras hit a solo homer in the second inning for the first run.
