That backcourt combo you're just itching to see again in Wednesday night's preseason finale at Milwaukee....
Sorry, folks.
Neither Ricky Rubio nor J.J. Barea practiced on Tuesday and both stayed behind when the team flew away late this afternoon.
"I just think they want to be precautionary right now," coach Rick Adelman said about the team's training staff, "and make sure they get treatment and get healthy so they can practice by the end of the week, before the first game."
Adelman said he wants to play those players who didn't see much action in Saturday's game at Target Center more time tomorrow and those two injuries will open the stage particularly for second-round pick Malcolm Lee and 35-year-old Bonzi Wells.
Adelman said Wells still can play. The problem is, the team already has the opening-day limit of 15 players with guaranteed contracts already.
"I think Bonzi can help us," Adelman said. "He has shown he can play. It's just a matter we're up against it number-wise. I have no, I haven't talked to David (Kahn) about it. I'm going to try and play him tomorrow and give him an opportunity to play on the court longer than he played the last game. He's certainly a guy who can play in this league. I just don't know if we're going to have enough room."
Also, Adelman said he has talked with Chuck Hayes, the former Rockets center who had his 4-year, $21 million contract with the Kings voided after he failed his physical because of a heart abnormalities found during his physical exam.
