The current VCU head coach is one of the hottest names in college basketball and could be a bonafide program savior for the Gophers. He was also hired by Teague when he was VCU's AD.

Whether any aspect of that fairy tale is realistic or not (holding comments) is another strory, and one we might not have much time to wax poetic on.
What? Why? you ask. Why can't we dream?
Well because Smart -- who is also being heavily wooed by UCLA -- just might not be going anywhere.
Sports Illustrated's Pete Thamel tweeted the following around 2:15 on Tuesday:
Extension with VCU? I don't think that's code for accpeting the Minnesota head coaching role.
