I WAS LIVING IN MARYLAND, AND REMEMBER CLEARLY THE NIGHT THAT A CLANDESTINE FLEET OF MAYFLOWER MOVING VANS,
under the cover of darkness, snuck into Baltimore, and removed that city's legendary sports franchise, the Colts. A number of years later, I was in a hotel van, on my way to the Cleveland airport, listening to the driver grouse about not wanting to pay for a stadium for the millionaire (Art Modell) owner of that city's franchise, the Browns. As I stepped off the van I reminded the driver of Baltimore's fate, and added, "It can happen here, too." Three days later it did. Los Angeles waits.

Errors doom ski result Incredible is the only word I can think of that describes the way Minnehaha Academy and the Minnesota State High School League handled this year's state championship results. I will keep this as simple as I can. A ski race consists of having all contestants start and finish at the same points. The skier that skis the distance between these points in the shortest amount of time is the champion. Bjorn Halvorson did that, so he is the champion. Simple. If there is an alleged eligibility issue involved, it should be resolved before a skier enters the starting gate.Jim Kruger, Edina
