Reporting back on our first date night since NOVEMBER.

Yes, an entire Minnesota winter came and went without Peter and I going on a date. We were content to just hibernate and hunker down with the kids all winter. Then boom, this glorious spring sprang early and suddenly we wanted to get out ...alone.

Other than late dinner reservations at a romantic Italian restaurant we had no set plans. We spent time meandering around the Minnehaha Creek area where we first dated

The rules of our date?

No talking about the kids.

That lasted about 15 minutes.

We were enjoying the vibrant vibe of a lovely evening at Minnehaha Falls Park. when I pointed out that the main attraction is what our son calls the "funny waterfall." Minnehaha. Our little comedian.

Okay, the rules changed. No talking about our kids except for things they do that make us laugh. So, of course, we talked about them throughout the night.

We did a little gazing at one another over candlelight, had quality conversation (uninterrupted), and thoroughly enjoyed being waited on.

Our kids found themselves with some pretty happy and refreshed parents the next day.

We were reminded how important it is to re-energize and rekindle.

And, our new babysitter is now on speed-dial!
