Venric Mark, Northwestern

Mark made the Gophers defense look silly in the first half, running up 151 yards, and he finished with 182. The junior is averaging 113 yards a game this season and has gained at least 120 in three games.

DEFENSIVE MVP

Nick VanHoose, Northwestern

With a potential tie on the line, the freshman broke up Max Shortell's third-and-goal pass to A.J. Barker, the last real scoring chance for the Gophers. VanHoose broke up three passes in the game and had three tackles (two solo).

BY THE NUMBERS
