LAS VEGAS — Country icons Reba McEntire and Brooks & Dunn are joining forces to become the newest headliners on the Las Vegas Strip.
"Cake and ice cream are good, but when you put 'em together, it's even better," McEntire said at a news conference announcing the trio's residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace starting June 24.
The three bantered like the "best friends" McEntire said they were, describing a dinner about six months ago when the idea cropped up and Ronnie Dunn said, "heck, let's do it."
Their people talked with Caesars and co-producer AEG Live, and the plan was worked out in the last two months.
"It's magic," Reba said of how their on-stage reunion in the 4,000-seat venue came about.
The show, "Together in Vegas," includes 12 performances in June, July and December 2015.
Tickets start at $59.50 and will go on sale Dec. 4.
For McEntire, Vegas is one of the places she got her start. She opened for country legend Roy Clark in the 1980s at Caesars Palace and lost her voice after performing two shows a night for six nights.
