My bedside reading involves books not usually talked about in Sunday’s book section of Variety. Recently I finished “Camino Island” (John Grisham); earlier in the week I finished David Housewright’s “What the Dead Leave Behind.” Earlier I read Lee Child, and up next includes Barry Eisler, Robert Crais and Michael Connelly. I am looking forward to Ken Follett’s new one. None is destined for literary history, but I love getting lost in their stories. With my younger days slaved to the giants of literature, I’m enjoying my older years with the folks who turn out a new adventure every year.
