Randy Moss, the legendary Vikings wide receiver who now works as an ESPN analyst, has a dual role Monday in Minneapolis: he's working the Vikings/Saints opener at U.S. Bank Stadium and he's being honored by the Vikings as he enters the team's Ring of Honor.

Along the way Monday afternoon, he made a stop to visit with a handful of kids from Athletes Committed to Educating Students (ACES), telling stories of how he gets excited every time he's on a football field and encouraging them to read (even though, he admitted, he doesn't like to read).

It was a nice little moment for the now 40-year-old Moss, who wasn't always viewed as a role model during his playing days.

But the best part, without question, was getting a close-up look at Moss' shoes.

No, really.

Moss was wearing a pair of custom shoes presented to him Monday by the Vikings depicting some of the most famous moments from his time as a player. On the right shoe Moss is pictured fending off a helpless defender. On the left shoe? It's the glorious image of Moss pretending to moon the crowd at Lambeau Field during the Vikings' playoff victory there following the 2004 season.

Good thing this is an ESPN game and not a Fox game. Joe Buck might declare those to be disgusting shoes.
