RandBall: Injuries have decimated the Yankees

How many injuries is a lot?

Well, if we're talking about one MLB team, we can see that most have somewhere between three and seven players on the injured list, with a few outliers a little higher or lower than that number.

The Twins? They entered Monday with four, a relatively low number: relief pitchers Addison Reed, Matt Magill and Gabriel Moya as well as third baseman Miguel Sano.

But one team is absolutely crushing the competition when it comes to injuries: the Yankees, who have 13 players on the injured list after adding slugger Aaron Judge on Sunday because of an oblique strain.

The list is full of key contributors aside from Judge, including Giancarlo Stanton, Aaron Hicks, Didi Gregorious, Gary Sanchez and Luis Severino. It's gotten so bad that in a recent game the Yankees' starting nine was completely different from what it was on Opening Day.

The Gophers played with more urgency, but it wasn’t enough to keep them from another conference sweep, and they lost LJ Mooney to injury in the process.
