Gophers senior guard Rachel Banham was named to the John Wooden Award’s midseason top 20 on Friday. Those on the list are considered the front-runners for the award given to the nation’s top women’s college basketball player.
Banham is averaging 23.6 points per game, which ranks sixth nationally. She has scored 20 or more points in 14 games.
She is also leading the team in rebounding, averaging 6.5 per game, and her 3.5 assists per game are second on the team.
The Gophers (10-6, 2-3 Big Ten) play host to Indiana at 2 p.m. Sunday.
