  • Age: Unmentionable
    • Lives in: Uptown Minneapolis
      • Occupation: Communications manager and special events associate for the Varsity Theater and Loring Pasta Bar.

Q: What would people be surprised to learn about you?

A: I'm an Air Force brat and a preacher's kid.

Q: You've been at the Varsity for years and seen a lot of bands come through. What was your biggest geek-out moment?

A: Too many to list: from meeting Janelle Monaé and Amy Winehouse (may she rest in peace), to late night kibitzing with Har Mar Superstar, Sia and Imogen Heap, it's hard to pick just one!

Q: What has kept you in Minneapolis all these years?

A: I've lived in a lot of places over the years, but this is one of the few cities that feels like home, and because of the breadth and depth of the arts scene in our fair cities.

Q: You're known for bringing out your drag persona on occasion. Who are her style icons?

A: If you are referring to my "identical twin cousin" Vicki Lester, it runs the gambit from 1960s television-era Judy Garland to Joan Holloway on "Mad Men" to Linda Evangelista in her '90s heyday. As Vicki is prone to say, "You never know what kind of day it's going to be until you face it in the altogether."

Perla was accused of raping a student during a wine-tasting outing in June 2015. Some of the files are so heavily redacted that on many pages no words are visible. Perla is one of 113 UC employees found to have violated the system's sexual misconduct policies in rece
