"I have seen some really fun and unique looks from the 1920s. The vintage look is in, and the flapper look is really cute for this season. Hair accessories such as flowers and jewels and peacock feathers are exciting." -- Rebecca Enrooth, 17, junior at New Prague High School

"Floral, one-strapped dresses, for clothes. For accessories, I believe bracelets, like bangles, will be in. Prom hair will be more modern, like a simple pulled-back pony with the bangs 'poofed' in the front, and the sides slicked back. The makeup will be a subtle toned base, with a sharp look to the eyes, matching the eye shadow with the accents to your dress." -- Olivia Kurtz, 15, sophomore at Eastview High School

"The big prom trend this year will be fitted, possibly pinstripe pants with black or white dress shirt and colored vest, matching tie and bow-tie. People that I've talked to about prom have said they're planning on not dressing up 'traditionally,' but going a little bit more casually and 'trendily.' This would include moving away from a tuxedo or suit and tie, to a vest and fitted pants. Turquoise and orange colors are getting to be the in colors this year." -- Peter Kruse, 18, senior at Mounds Park Academy

"Purple seems to be a popular color; and prints, too. There will be long dresses with laced-up or open backs." -- Ashlee Kirtz, 16, junior at Zumbrota-Mazeppa High School
