Prince Harry honors Thomas the Tank Engine

Prince Harry has recorded a special message to celebrate the 75th anniversary of children's favorite Thomas the Tank Engine.

The Duke of Sussex introduces a new program called "Thomas and Friends: The Royal Engine," which has a storyline that includes Harry's father and grandmother, Prince Charles and Queen Elizabeth, as animated characters. Set when the prince was a boy, the story sees the friendly engine taking Sir Topham Hatt, the controller of the railway, to Buckingham Palace to receive an honor. Proof of Prince Harry's attachment to the engine can be seen in photos of his first day attending nursery in September 1987, where he is seen carrying a Thomas the Tank Engine bag.

Stars to Unite for coronavirus event

Oprah Winfrey, Julia Roberts and former President George W. Bush will be among 200 star-studded participants in a 24-hour global livestream event. The Call to Unite event will kick off Friday evening to offer performances and conversations about overcoming the challenges of the pandemic. Quincy Jones, Jennifer Garner, Common, Maria Shriver, Questlove, Yo-Yo Ma, Eva Longoria, Naomi Campbell and Alanis Morissette are expected to participate. The event will be livestreamed at unite.us and on Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Twitch, LinkedIn and SiriusXM Stars.

Lost: Grammy-nominated gospel singer Troy Sneed has died from coronavirus complications. He was 52. Sneed's publicist said the singer died early Monday at a hospital in Jacksonville, Fla.

Fatal crash: Ashley Ross of the Atlanta-filmed reality TV show "Little Women: Atlanta" has died in a Georgia car crash, her representative confirmed Tuesday. Ross was known as "Ms. Minnie" on the Lifetime series, which follows women with dwarfism trying to make it big in Atlanta's hip-hop and rap scene.

On demand: Judd Apatow's "The King of Staten Island," starring Pete Davidson, will release straight to home on-demand video after having its theatrical release canceled. Universal Pictures said "The King of Staten Island" will debut as a $20 rental on digital platforms June 12. Davidson co-wrote the semi-autobiographical "The King of Staten Island," a comedy about a young man living at home with his mother (Marisa Tomei) on New York's Staten Island.
