Preview: Wolves vs. Portland

January 5, 2013 at 2:42AM

Preview: The Trail Blazers finish a four-game trip that started with a 105-100 victory at New York and a 102-79 loss at Toronto before they played at Memphis on Friday night. ... The Blazers won 103-95 at Portland the night after Thanksgiving in the only meeting between the teams so far this season. ... The Wolves didn't practice Friday after playing back-to-back games, but they list both Ricky Rubio (back spasms) and Kevin Love (sprained finger) as questionable.

Players to watch: Looks like the Wolves knew what they were doing when they extended Blazers F Nicolas Batum a $45 million offer sheet last summer. He made six three-pointers at New York on Tuesday and is tied for fifth in the NBA in threes made. He is averaging 16.2 points, 5.6 rebounds and 4.4 assists. ... Point guard Damian Lillard was the West's Rookie of the Month in November and December. The only other Blazer to do that at least twice? Brandon Roy, who won it in January, February and March in 2007.

Injuries: Roy, F Chase Budinger and G Malcolm Lee all are out for the Wolves because of knee injuries. Blazers C Meyers Leonard (ankle) and G Elliot Williams (Achilles') did not play Friday at Memphis.
