ATHLETES TO WATCH

Calvin Ciganik, jr., Mounds View: Cleared 15 feet, 6 inches to win the Elite Meet pole vault title and later won the Class 2A championship. Could threaten the state mark of 16-0 set in 2013 by Grant Krieger of Blake.

Evan El-Halawani, sr., Lakeville North: Won the 300 hurdles and placed fifth in the 110 hurdles.

Julia Hayes, jr., Irondale: Third in both hurdles events behind two graduated state record holders.

Cece Lewis, soph., Fridley: Only freshman in Class 2A to have all-state finishes in the 200 and 400 last spring.
