BOB SEGER AND KID ROCK

Friday: It will be their first full concert together. In fact, they're playing only two shows together in the midst of current separate tours. But it makes sense for these two Detroit rock icons of different generations to share a bill. They've been pals for a decade or so. Kid Rock inducted Seger into the Rock Hall of Fame in 2004. Two years later, Kid Rock brought Seger out of mothballs to perform at two pre-Super Bowl concerts in Detroit. Since then, they've played on each other's records — Kid Rock joining in on Seger's "Real Mean Bottle" in 2006 and Seger contributing piano and vocals on the Kid Rock/Sheryl Crow 2010 duet "Collide." With the 67-year-old Seger seeming a bit out of shape in his past two St. Paul performances (2006, 2011), Kid Rock, 42, can take some of the pressure and stage-time from Mr. Rock 'n' Roll Never Forgets. (8 p.m. Fri. $67-$87. Xcel Energy Center, W. 7th St. and Kellogg Blvd., St. Paul. www.ticketmaster.com.)
