Saturday: The former Tony! Toni! Tone! singer has reinvented himself as an innovative solo artist whose records land squarely between modern rock, vintage R&B and classic Motown soul, and whose onstage showmanship rivals Janelle Monae and Sharon Jones in the current groove business. You might remember seeing him channel Solomon Burke with Mick Jagger at the Grammy Awards in February. His latest record, "Stone Rollin'," adds some psychedelic, Hendrix-style flavor and other eccentric sounds to the proceedings with fun results, all of which also make him a decent fit for the Cabooze. Too bad the show was moved indoors, but it will still provide a hot blast of summer fun.
