Saturday: If you watched any of this summer's World Cup games, then you've heard K'Naan. The Somalian refugee-turned-rapper -- who briefly called Minneapolis home before settling in Toronto -- was the guy behind Coca-Cola's "official" anthem for the games, "Wavin' Flag," a truly rousing song off his 2009 album "Troubadour" that was remade into 20 languages. K'Naan has a similar boundary-crossing effect whenever he performs in the Twin Cities. His stellar live band coolly hops from rap to reggae to rock, and his concerts draw African immigrants alongside an already diverse native hip-hop crowd.
