Plymouth native R.C. Johnson, winner of the 96-kilogram Greco-Roman weight class at last month's Olympic wrestling trials, lost his bid to compete in London when the U.S. failed to qualify his weight.

Justin Ruiz wrestled Sunday in the final Olympics qualifying tournament, held in Finland. He had to finish in the top two to earn the U.S. a spot in the Olympic Greco-Roman tournament at 96 kilograms. Ruiz lost his opening match to Balasz Kiss of Hungary and was eliminated from the consolation round when Kiss lost his next match.

The U.S. qualified in all other Greco-Roman, freestyle and women's weight classes and will send 17 wrestlers to London, most of any nation. Chas Betts of St. Michael will compete in England in the 84 kilogram class.
