A pickup truck driver ran a stop sign west of Princeton, Minn., hit a teen couple’s car and killed the passenger in the smaller vehicle, authorities said Tuesday.

The crash occurred about 5:50 p.m. Monday at Hwy. 95 and Mille Lacs County Road 7, according to the State Patrol.

Hannah Rose Middleton, 18, of Princeton, died at the scene, the patrol said. She graduated from Princeton High School in June and was a standout swimmer for her school.

The pickup’s driver, Jerad W. Peterson, 33, of Ogilvie, Minn., was hospitalized with noncritical injuries, as was the driver of the car and Middleton’s boyfriend, Nathan D. Beehler, 18, a Foley High School graduate.

Peterson was northbound on County Road 7 when he struck the car on the passenger side as it headed east on Hwy. 95, the patrol said. Paul Walsh
