The perfect pairing is in the eye of the imbiber. But a little guidance from those in the know never hurts. While no two beers are created equal, these general suggestions from chefs and beer pros can help get you started.

Pilsners & lagers: fish, salads
Belgians: pork, seafood, braised meats, desserts
IPAs: salty or fatty meats, spicy foods, Asian cuisine

Stouts: chocolate, desserts
