Two of the biggest names in music — Paul Simon and Sting — are pairing up for a concert tour early next year that includes a stop in the Twin Cities.

The two are scheduled to perform on stage together Feb. 23 at the Xcel Energy Center, promoters announced Tuesday.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Nov. 18 at the Xcel box office and through the usual Ticketmaster venues. Ticket prices, when fees for using Ticketmaster are included, range from $55.46 to $273.37.

The "Paul Simon & Sting: On Stage Together" tour opens Feb. 8 in Houston and closes March 18 in Orlando.

The 72-year-old Simon's folk, pop and rock career has spanned six decades, starting with Art Garfunkel, then going solo and reaching a zenith with his African-inluenced "Graceland" album. He has received 12 Grammys and earned a spot in the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame.

Sting, 62, gained stardom starting in the late 1970s as the frontman for the Police before heading off on his own. He has collected 16 Grammys and has leveraged his celebrity to promote various human rights causes.
