Paul leads Rockets over Thunder

Chris Paul scored 25 points and the Houston Rockets beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 122-112 on Tuesday night for their 16th straight win.

James Harden had 23 points and 11 assists, and Trevor Ariza added 15 points for the Rockets, who are on the second-longest winning streak in franchise history.

Houston, 33-1 when Harden, Paul and Clint Capela all play in the same game, maintained their half-game lead over Golden State in the Western Conference.

Russell Westbrook scored 32 points and Carmelo Anthony added 23 for Oklahoma City, which dropped a full game behind the fourth-place Spurs and Wolves in the West.

Golden State 114, Brooklyn 101: Stephen Curry scored 34 points as all five Warriors starters scored in double figures to beat the visiting Nets and maintain pace with the Rockets in the West.

Portland 111, New York 87: Damien Lillard scored 37 points on 10-for-18 shooting as the host Blazers won their eighth straight game. Portland remained one game ahead of the third-place Pelicans in the West.

New Orleans 121, L.A. Clippers 116: Anthony Davis scored 41 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead the visiting Pelicans to their ninth consecutive win. The victory moves New Orleans into sole possession of third place in the West, a half-game ahead of the Spurs and Wolves.

Dallas 118, Denver 107: Yogi Ferrell scored 24 points as the host Mavericks handed the eighth-place Nuggets a bad loss.
