    Party animals in their natural Habitat at Hard Hat gala

    Guests at the 20th anniversary Hard Hat and Black Tie gala, held at the Hilton in downtown Minneapolis, wore construction-inspired accents with their formalwear to help raise funds for Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity. The nonprofit works to bring affordable housing to area families by building, repairing and financing homes and providing advice. President and CEO and former St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman invited his successor, Melvin Carter, and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey to help in the fundraising effort.

      People arrived to pay respects at the scene of a racially motivated shooting at a Buffalo, N.Y. supermarket. Authorities said Payton Gendron shot, in total, 11 Black people and two white people Saturday in a rampage that he broadcast live.
