Oscar parties Why watch the Oscars at home in your PJs when you can get dressed up and have your own red-carpet affair? On Sunday, Bellanotte in downtown Minneapolis will host its Oscar gala. Walk the red carpet with fake paparazzi and then watch the awards on several plasma TVs inside a private dining room. Expect the star treatment: complimentary appetizers and champagne. (6 p.m. Sun., 600 Hennepin Av. S., Mpls. Free. 612-339-7200. bellanottempls.com.) In St. Paul, Rumours & Innuendo will hold its second annual Oscar party, hosted by the Minneapolis Movie Bears. The gay club will hand out Oscar ballots, offer movie trivia and serve specialty Oscar cocktails.

A fashion fight night The fashionistas behind this event have taken the bloodiest parts of "Project Runway" and created something they're calling "Fashion Feud." In this competition, two designers will go head to head as they try to create an outfit in one hour -- all from a bag of raw clothing material. They will each have one model, and the audience will decide the winner. The competitors are Red Shoe Clothing Co. vs. Laura Fulk. Two more "Fashion Feuds" will follow in March and April. The show takes place in the gritty 7th Street Entry and will be hosted by Cliché.

7-10 p.m. Wed. 701 1st Av. N., Mpls. Free. 18 and older. 612-332-1775. first-avenue.com.

Wine and dine, with beer Haven't tried a beer dinner? They're like a wine dinner, but more fun. The next one at the Happy Gnome is Tuesday and will feature the great Wisconsin brewery Furthermore. Five courses, six beers. You can't beat that.

6 p.m. Tue. 498 Selby Av., St. Paul. $60. 651-287-2018. thehappygnome.com.
