At the University of Minnesota, Dan Endy's red, white and blue outfit drew some stares.
"It's really not a testament to my patriotism," the sophomore said. "It's tongue-in-cheek."
Endy's roommates dared him to wear it after watching the "surreal" and "exciting" news together on CNN.
Endy remembers 9/11. Kind of. He was 11 years old and in fifth grade.
His reaction to Bin Laden's death was much like that of his friends on Facebook. "People were posting statuses like, 'Where's the death certificate?' Silly stuff like that. Very few people were saying, 'This is an important victory for America.' Most people were laughing at it."
Endy's outfit was, too.
"Which is not to say I'm anti-American," the psychology major added. "I'm just poking a bit of fun at some people's interpretation of all this."
