Fred A. Conti
Dr. Fred A. Conti, D.P.M., age 90, of Brooklyn Park, formerly of St. Anthony. Born in Lentini, Sicily, 1911, came to the U.S. in 1912. Raised in Omaha, NE. Graduated from Creighton Prep and attended Creighton University for two years before going on to the Illinois College of Podiatry in Chicago, graduating in 1939. He was drafted into the Army in 1941-1945, and served with the 39th Evac. Hospital in the 3rd Army through the European Campaign. He met and married Bonnie (Seawell) in 1943. They moved to Minneapolis in 1948, and he practiced in downtown Minneapolis until his retirement in 1984. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam & Lucia Conti; brother, Frank and sister, Tana. Survived by loving wife of 58 years, Bonnie; daughters, Barbara Harris & husband Rex, Renee Mannie & husband Larry, and Tana Haider & husband Mike; sons, Fred Jr., Tim & wife Rose Masanz and Tom; grandchildren, Steven and Erin Mannie, Kerri, Luke and Leah Haider, Nicholas, Benjamin and Jonathan Conti-Masanz; brothers, Ross Conti of Sacramento, CA, Sam Conti & wife Eunice of Omaha, NE, Joe Conti of NC; many nieces and nephews. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, January 2, 2002, 10 am at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 2727 Stinson Blvd NE, with visitation in the church atrium at 9 am. Private interment.
