Hadd John R. of Grand Rapids, MN, age 67, on December 24, 2002. Author; Public Analyst. A native of St. Paul, MN. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1953. Following service in the US Army. He graduated with honors from the University of Minnesota in 1960; he later earned his Master's degree from George Washington University in 1970. In 1960 he began a distinguished career in the United States Civil Service, including tours with the Executive Office of the President-Bureau of the Budget, with the office of the Chief of Engineers, US Army Corps of Engineers as a senior civilian policy Advisor, and with the US General Accounting Office as a senior policy evaluator in years before his retirement from the federal service his intellectual focus broadened to Consideration of significant issues in the scientific-creationism debate, resulting in recent years in the publication of numerous articles and books including #1. The Direct Connection (1976), #2 ``Evolution; Reconciling The Controversy'' (1979) #3 ``Resurrecting Genesis'' (2002). As one of the two sisters and six brothers of the Hadd family, he contributed to each of the other family members in diverse and supportive ways from challenging ideas to comraderie, to helpful hands to caring reflection to.. all reflective of a strong, enduring bond to relationships within the extended family. He was a thoughtful mentor to many of his nieces and nephews (both natural and adopted) and closely monitored and emotionally supported the development of each individual. His love of family, friends and fishing was surpassed only by his pursuit of the reconciliation of the tensions between his strong religious faith and the commands of his intellect - a worthy, noble and enduring pursuit -Amen. He is survived by sister and brothers, Jeanne (Roy), Harry (Helen), Joseph (Jean), Donald (Mitzi), Edward (Audrey), Thomas (Virginia); also numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4-8pm at THE HOLCOMB-HENRY-BOOM NORTH CHAPEL, 515 W. Hwy 96, Shoreview. Funeral service will be on Tuesday 10am at NORTH HEIGHTS LUTHERAN CHURCH CHAPEL, 1700 W. Hwy 96, Arden Hills. With a time of visitation from 9am until time of service. Interment Oakland Cemetery, St. Paul 651-482-7606
